In just over a week, we’ll be unveiling the first of what I think are two exceptionally original TV commercials that will Coldwell Banker Real Estate will be running throughout 2014. While we typically share the final product in all its glory, this year we wanted to take you behind the scenes a bit and let you in on some of the nuances and stories that you don’t get a sense of in a 60 second ad.

This year Coldwell Banker will be running 2 truly unique ads. The first one being revealed on the Grammy Awards on January 26th is called “Home Sweet Home.” The second one is called “Your Home.” The two spots are drastically different in style, but similar in subject matter as each deals with that amazing feeling.

The video above gives you a tasted of Day 1 of the 2014 Coldwell Banker TV shoot. We were in Santiago, Chile for this shoot and I will tell you the weather was fantastic in December for this Jersey boy who is used to chilly temps. As you can see from the video, it’s summer below the equator and that offered us the opportunity to really get some great sun-filled shots.

The first shot you see in the video above is of this adorable little boy in some pretty awesome high-top Chuck One Stars pushing a lawn mower. Apparently this child had never seen how a lawn mower works before because he thought you should drag it behind you or lift it up and carry it. I was in no position to give him lessons seeing that I don’t mow my own lawn (I say it’s because of allergies but honestly I have no desire to do it), but finally we were able to convince him of how to control the mower after we enticed with a wheelbarrow which he seemed to like better.

After the initial shot the rest of the day was smooth sailing. We fired up the grill, broke out the trampoline, let the kids run wild and captured the pure joy of enjoying a backyard and what home has to offer.

The most interesting discovery of the day was playing on a Chilean basketball hoop which is a bit more difficult than what I’m used to. That wraps up day 1, but wait until you see what’s in store for day 2. I’ll leave you with this, it involves a Fiat convertible, a replica Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo and a ridiculously long day.
