Renewing a Commitment to Find Homes for Dogs

By extending their program, Coldwell Banker and Adopt-a-Pet.com will “raise the ruff” for adoptable dogs in 2016

Dogs make every day awesome – that’s why Coldwell Banker Real Estate has extended its collaboration with Adopt-a-Pet.com and will continue its successful “Homes for Dogs Project” into 2016.

Last year, Coldwell Banker was inspired by the canine stars of its successful and popular “Home’s Best Friend” television commercial. Upon learning that half of the featured pups were adopted, Coldwell Banker set out on a mission to make a difference for the millions of adoptable pets around the country in need of a loving home.

The extension of the campaign will further opportunities for Coldwell Banker affiliated offices to join forces with local shelters and rescue groups through their association with Adopt-a-Pet.com.

As we look ahead to this continued collaboration, we’d also like to celebrate last year’s successes and look to these awesome moments as inspiration for 2016.

THIS IS HOME small

  1. 20,000 adoptions in only eight months
  2. 88,000 sales associates and 15,000 shelters and rescue groups working together
  3. More than 675 local adoption events during the Homes for Dogs National Pet Adoption Weekend in August 2015 (Stay tuned: the adoption event will be replicated in Fall 2016!)

The Coldwell Banker “Home’s Best Friend” advertisement has also been extended into 2016. Coldwell Banker will launch another canine-centric ad spot as part of a new campaign being released in March.

After nearly 110 years of helping people find homes, Coldwell Banker is now in the business of finding dogs homes. It’s why Adopt-a-Pet.com presented Coldwell Banker with the first ever Companion Animal Champion Award for its incredible commitment to man’s (and home’s) best friend at the annual Coldwell Banker Generation Blue Event in September 2015.

Stay tuned to learn more about what this dynamic partnership has in store for 2016!

Wanted to know if we could post the “Home’s Best Friend” television commercial on our social media pages (facebook, twitter, google plus) or if we need to wait until a new 2016 commercial comes out.

Hi there, I love this! We really need more collaboration between rescues and those with big voices, exposure, and advertising dollars.

    How about cats next??

Our first Homes For Dogs adoption day was a BIG success with 6 dogs finding their forever homes!! A huge thanks to Marley’s Mutts and their Mutt Malitia, our own Coldwell Banker Preferred volunteers, Dickey’s BBQ, Primetime Signs and all those who came out to support such a great cause! We have adoption days scheduled throughout 2016 w Marley’s and the Bakersfield SPCA. Watch our FB page and follow us on Instagram (coldwellbankerbakersfield) for info.

I am in the process of starting a campaign for rescue groups and was going to tie the two together in my marketing if possible.

Great job! I’ve been looking for a dog for a long time now. My problem is I suffer from severe depression and it has been recommended by my doctor to get a companion animal. I have been to all the shelters and online, but because of my fixed income it is nearly impossible for me to rescue one of these animals. Is there any programs that will help a person like me to be able to get a new friend?

    Thank you

I really like your program. As an animal advocate, rescuer and Crossposter, I have to wonder why your program does not include cats. More cats are MURDERED per year, month, week than dogs. ANIMALS ARE ANIMALS. All deserve to have warm, loving furever homes, and to live life and be happy.
I would appreciate either you include cats in your program, or start another program for cats. Actually, a program for all loving animals would be phenomenal.

Hi Meri, While the name of the campaign may be “Homes for Dogs,” our partners at Adopt-a-Pet.com have listings for all kinds of adoptable animals and we fully support giving loving homes to all furry friends.

I applaud your program to help dogs find homes. And I’m happy you do the same for cats. But to exclude cats from the name of your project and in your ads, you are in effect saying, “Let’s help these dogs find some loving homes. Cats? To hell with cats!” If someone has to look for the information, you dropped the ball. Pet sharks, snakes, bats, aligators, I get that. But cats? Good God!!!
