The Prettiest Jacksonville Neighborhoods

Come take a virtual drive down some of Northeast Florida’s prettiest streets from Ortega, San Marco, Mandarin, and Ponte Vedra, which feature some of the most beautiful and expensive real estate that shapes life on the First Coast.

Some of the prettiest Jacksonville neighborhoods are a collection of roads that run along the St. Johns River and the Atlantic Ocean in Northeast Florida. From historic homes overlooking the water to gorgeous tree-lined streets that play host to riverfront mansions and stately oceanfront estates, each of these create the landscape for one dreamy drive.

Yacht Club Road

Yacht Club Road is located in the beautiful riverfront enclave of Ortega. It starts off Highway 17 and ends at its namesake: the Florida Yacht Club. Along the way, you will see beautiful waterfront mansions with lots of Southern charm, gorgeous mature landscaping, and old oak trees that run along the river. There are gorgeous, close-up views of downtown practically right in front of you. Properties here range from $300K fixer-uppers to multimillion-dollar homes on the river. The Florida Yacht Club is the hub of neighborhood activity from tennis, boating, dining, and socializing in their gorgeous and historic clubhouse — there’s a reason why the road ends where it does!

River Road

Crossing the St. Johns River into San Marco is River Road, another bustling Jacksonville neighborhood with a gorgeous street. As the name implies, this road runs along the St. Johns River and showcases a variety of stunning riverfront mansions in an array of styles. The Mediterranean-revival style is quite prevalent, but you’ll see it all — from traditional to transitional. You’ll find several beautiful properties on the market anywhere from over $1M to the $3M price range.

Mandarin Road

Heading south on Hendricks Avenue onto San Jose Boulevard takes you into Mandarin, where Mandarin Road is a welcome detour from the traffic lights and commercial landscape. The minute you turn down this street, you’re taken back in time to experience Old Florida. Gorgeous old oak trees draped with Spanish moss dot the landscape the entire length of this street. Here you’ll find an array of neighborhoods and riverfront mansions as well as estates, all unbelievably gorgeous.

The variety of price points here means there’s something for just about any budget — homes off this road go for anything from under $200K to the $800K price point. There are also many homes on private driveways, some quite narrow and very heavily treed. The riverfront mansions will set you back one million dollars or more, ranging from $1M to under $5M.

Ponte Vedra Boulevard

Every area has their version of Rodeo Drive, and in Northeast Florida, it’s Ponte Vedra Boulevard. This famous stretch of road runs along the ocean, starting east of A1A at 3rd Street to the north and ends at Mickler’s Landing beach to the south. This is Jacksonville’s Beverly Hills, with gorgeous mansions on both sides of the street, each one seemingly grander then the next. “The Boulevard,” as it is known, is alive and well with new construction and renovation. This is where resort and beach life come together, with the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club serving as the hub of so much of the activity. There’s a lot of history with these homes as well — many have been in families for generations, although there has been some recent turnover, with new owners being attracted to the area from all over the world. Right now, you can get a home with this prestigious address from $3M to just under $10M for oceanfront properties.

So get in your car and check out these amazing Jacksonville neighborhoods!
