8 NYC Pools for Renters and Buyers

Looking to escape the heat by renting or buying an apartment in a building with a swimming pool? Luckily NYC pools aren’t THAT hard to come by. Here are eight buildings where a nice dip in the water is never more than an elevator ride away.

Looking to rent or buy in a building with an outdoor pool? We don’t blame you. The city can get pretty darn steamy in July and August — wouldn’t it be nice to cool off in one of these NYC pools just mere steps away from your apartment?

Note: Most will come with yearly pool fees.

Mercedes House
550 West 54th Street

Located in Midtown, the Mercedes House has an indoor and an outdoor pool. You may want to look your best if you’re hanging out outside, though, as the place has become one of the hippest NYC pools around. Rentals range in price from $4,000 for a one-bedroom to $6,080 for a two-bedroom.

101 Bedford
101 Bedford Street

Alright, while this Williamsburg, Brooklyn, rental building’s pool is technically indoors, it’s got huge skylights above, so you kind of feel like you’re outside. There’s a hot tub, too. Who needs to go away for a summer vacation anyway? Currently available rentals range from $2,700 for a studio up to $7,800 for a two-bedroom.

One Museum Mile
1280 fifth Avenue

Condo building One Museum Mile, located at 110th and Fifth Avenue, has a relatively small swimming pool — it’s just 18 x 35 feet — but it’s also got deck has a barbecue area and a few lounge chairs. Available apartments range from $1.895 million to $3.85 million to buy and $3,150–$9,500 a month to rent.

133 West 22nd Street
This boutique condo building in Chelsea boasts a backyard pool, and a patio with lounge chairs, cabanas, and grills. There’s even an outdoor shower to rinse off all that chlorine before you get home. There’s a one-bedroom available for $1.68 million and two one-bedroom rentals for $4,800 and $5,500.

Adam’s Tower
351 East 84th Street

This 32-story Upper East Side rental unit has a rooftop pool that’s popular with the building’s families. The latest listing were between $3,850 and $9,950.

Newport East
370 East 76th Street

This Upper East Side co-op has 369 units, 19 floors, and a heated rooftop swimming pool, which is open in the summer for shareholders. Most recent listings ranged from $410,000 for a studio to $1.395 million for a two-bedroom.

300 East 34th Street

This 36-story Kips Bay rental building has an outdoor pool with a sundeck. Recent rental listings ranged from $2,750 for a studio to $6,100 for a two-bedroom.

Gracie Towers
180 East End Avenue

This 21-story Yorkville co-op building — right off Carl Schurz Park and near Gracie Mansion — has a rooftop pool and sun room. There are currently two apartments available, for $2.595 million and $2.950 million.
