Take a Tour of Heidi Watney’s Urban Retreat

The host of the MLB Network’s Quick Pitch shares how she unwinds at home during the hectic baseball season.

Last week, star Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Joc Pederson took us on a hoverboard tour of his Los Angeles abode.  This week, we’re heading back to the East Coast for the next stop on our journey around the country.

As a host for the MLB Network, it is Heidi Watney’s job to get inside access to the biggest stars and stories throughout Major League Baseball.  Now, we are turning the tables and asking Heidi the questions, finding out why home is so important for her family (including their ferocious five pound dog Yogi who “runs the house”).

For most city dwellers, having true outdoor space may seem like a pipe dream.  However, Heidi and husband Mike found the perfect place to open up a bottle of wine and relax in the fresh air – while somehow not compromising the convenience of city life!  Coupled with a fun collection of lights and a budding garden, they have built themselves a reminder of their California outdoorsy upbringing in the urban jungle. (And we did the leg work for you, here is a link to that ridiculously cool hammock/chair).

But I have to admit, while a glass of wine with good company in the backyard does sound like a good time, I’m not sure if I’d ever be able to leave their memorabilia room.  In the running for one of the coolest rooms I have seen in the Home Field Advantage Series so far, Mike – who works in player personnel for the Houston Astros – has set up five TVs to watch five games simultaneously.  Some may say it’s overwhelming, but I’d put that notion to the test any day of the week.

Watch the video above to get Heidi’s full tour and be sure to check back next week when we continue our 2016 Home Field Advantage series with reigning American League Cy Young winner, Dallas Keuchel of the Houston Astros.

Once you’re done gushing over Heidi’s outdoor space, find the perfect home of your own.
