The Story of I’ll Be Home for Christmas and the Battleship North Carolina




Bing Crosby crooning the holiday classic, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, is a tune echoed through many a home this time of year. First released around Christmas in 1943, the song is written from the perspective of a soldier serving over seas during World War 2. While the melody is one that lingers in our minds, the meaning of the song is actually quite somber as the closing line reveals that being home for Christmas isn’t quite a reality just yet.

I will admit it. I’ve never hung lights on the outside of my home. I love how holiday lights look on homes across the neighborhood, but I’m not exactly sure how to do it so that it looks good on my own home. When I run into a problem like this, I turn to the oracle of problem solving: YouTube.

What People Dislike Most About Holiday Home Decor




Tis’ the season to be jolly as the old yule tide goes, but it’s also a season for frustration with home holiday decorations. As I made my 20th trek to the basement this weekend to bring up even more Christmas decorations, I found myself getting annoyed with the whole process. I can’t be the only one who feels this way so this week I set out on an impromptu survey through Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to find out what is the one thing people dislike most about decorating their home for the holidays.

Coldwell Banker Holiday TV Spot – Crowded House




This year we partnered with NBC to not only create a holiday themed TV spot, but also advertise on some of the most notable holiday programs. This week, we launch our holiday themed ad which we call “Crowded House.” Our recent survey of consumers showed that 40% of people have more than 15 people living under one roof during the holiday season! As you’ll see in the video below, we played off that concept in what we think is a relatable TV commercial.

The old holiday tune There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays is a classic melody, but to many of us the lyrics are more than just a catchy song. While many associate this holiday classic with Christmas, if you look at the words it’s actually more applicable to Thanksgiving.
