The mobile and tech world yesterday got to see exactly what Apple has up its sleeves with its new operating system for iPhone that will be released later this year. Design changes, updated features and your digital goodie bag of options were laid out to try and keep Apple at the top of the mobile food chain.
Smart TVs have been talked about for years. Two years ago I was at the Consumer Electronics Show where it was the latest and greatest home entertainment device being showcased. Look at how many apps you can have on your TV! You can read emails on a 50 inch HDTV. Don’t you want to post to Twitter on your flat screen?
Summer months are coming when you’ll start planning those trips to maybe that vacation home by the beach or on the lake or just away from it all. Sure we’d all like to say that we’re the intellectual types who don’t watch TV when we’re on vacation because we’re so busy enjoying nature or reading Ernest Hemminway, but let’s be honest with ourselves. On those rainy days or nights, sometimes you just want to kick back and watch a ball game or reruns of Seinfeld that you religiously DVR. Am I right?
Weren’t we all supposed to be flying cars to work (sure would make my commute better!) and hanging out on the moon by 2012? While technology hasn’t caught up to science fiction in that regard, we do know that writers of Sci-Fi movies like Minority Report and 2001: A Space Odyssey got a lot of things right. Everything from video conferencing to “gesture based computing” and personalized ad serving are “imagined” things we saw in movies that a lot of us use in our everyday lives.

Independent expert judges from around the world review sites in 96 industries and yesterday it was announced that Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC has won not one but two prestigious web awards for outstanding achievement in web development.
A month or so ago, we were approached about doing a new type of tablet ad with adMob that allowed us to feature video and showcase our brand in one of their tablet-focused ad units. We had already launched our iAd for iPad and had seen the value and potential growth in tablet advertising, so we jumped at the chance to try it out.
We’ve come to the conclusion that the iAd is allowing us to do things in our mobile advertising that you can’t replicate elsewhere. So today, we’ve added an iAd for the iPhone to the mix, and it just so happens to also be Apple’s 100th iAd. This iAd is different from the iPad version and it focuses on helping consumers find a home for sale that meets their needs right within our iAd unit. Consumers can even call an agent right from the iAd to get more details on a property.
