When you look for a home chances are the driveway isn’t at the forefront of your mind. But I think when you look back at your childhood and even today you might be surprised to see just how many memories of home happen on the driveway. Home for MLB Opening Day
The opening day of the Major League Baseball season is upon us and to me there’s no sport that better relates to home than baseball. Think about it. Home is an essential part of the baseball vernacular. You’ve got home plate, home run, “root, root, root for the home team” is part of the infamous song Take Me Out to the Ballgame, and then there’s the insider vocabulary like “he covers a lot of real estate out in center.” Not only that, but baseball is a game that for me brings back memories of home.

Weren’t we all supposed to be flying cars to work (sure would make my commute better!) and hanging out on the moon by 2012? While technology hasn’t caught up to science fiction in that regard, we do know that writers of Sci-Fi movies like Minority Report and 2001: A Space Odyssey got a lot of things right. Everything from video conferencing to “gesture based computing” and personalized ad serving are “imagined” things we saw in movies that a lot of us use in our everyday lives.
