Many New Yorkers dream of having their own outdoor space. Are you one of the lucky ones that actually do?
No matter how tiny it is, here’s how your can make the most of these small outdoor spaces!
Add Somewhere to Sit
During the summer months, you’re going to want to spend as much time outside of your NYC home as possible, so why not add some seating?
Since your space is small, choose lightweight pieces that are easy to move around and don’t take up a lot of visual space. A small bistro table and chairs would be perfect. Keep extra chairs folded in the corner for guests.
Add color and texture to your outdoor space with cushions and pillows created with outdoor fabric. These simple touches are an inexpensive way to add style and comfort.

Brighten It Up
An outdoor space needs lighting to maximize its potential. There are many types of outdoor lights, so choose the ones that fit your space and personality.
Lights with motion sensors are convenient and low maintenance. Candles will add romance to your space. Choose citronella varieties to keep away the bugs.
Another way to brighten your space is with string lights. Look for lights with decorative bulb covers and hang them around your door or windows for a fun effect.
