This is Home – Pelligrini Family on George to the Rescue

The George to the Rescue team of designers arrive in Totowa, NJ to help make the Pelligrini’s home a better fit for their growing space needs.

The Pelligrini Family moved into a starter home in Totowa, NJ with the thought that it was a great 5-year house. Sixteen years later, Amy, Lou and their son Zach are in need of more space.

Zach is autistic and has a lot of energy. Amy and Lou lovingly call him their “pinball machine,” because of Zach’s love of running through the home and touching the walls. This habit, however, has over time resulted in cracked sheet rock and holes in walls. When he was younger, Lou says, “the house was big to him and for him.” Now, Zach is 12 and he is as big as his Dad. And so the Pelligrini family writes to George Oliphant about their need for more room.

George Oliphant and his team of designers arrive on the scene to make their home a better fit for their growing space needs. They’re greeted with a big hug from Zach and get right to work opening up the home. Be sure to catch the complete episode of the Pelligrini family on George to the Rescue.

When asked what the meaning of home is, Amy Pelligrini responds “home is laughter.” And with the amount of love, hugs, fun and “Couch Ball” overflowing from their home, it is quite an appropriate definition.
