The Coldwell Banker iPad App is here. It’s our first foray into the world of tablets and we wanted to provide an experience that was built specifically for the iPad, not just a supped up iPhone app.

As you may know, at Coldwell Banker we’re big on video and the iPad in our estimation is the ultimate video device. It has a crystal clear screen and is basically a mobile TV that lets you watch videos to your heart’s delight. That’s why we made video the pivotal aspect of the Coldwell Banker iPad app. With our Coldwell Banker On Location YouTube channel, we have the largest inventory of videos of any national real estate brand. Everything from listing videos to agent videos to community videos to DIY videos can be found in our new iPad app.

We still have the familiar real estate search parameter and can display results on a map or in a list view, but it’s the videos that are the hero.

We also have partnered with Yelp! to use their ratings engine for local community hotspots to help put some texture around the places you’re searching for a home.

Like our iPhone app, we’re already working on incorporating IDX feed of listings into the iPad app. Our goal is to have full IDX on the iPad app this year. There’s a lot of rules and restrictions about displaying IDX listings on a site that also uses videos to promote listings. That’s one thing we don’t want to lose so we’ll be working to find a solution that allows video to still be there hero but can also provide all the listings in a given market.

The Coldwell Banker iPad app is available to download in the iTunes store and we’re pretty excited about it. The app isn’t perfect and we’re already planning a number of updates as we continue to test and refine the app. We’d love your feedback and even a suggestion or two of what you’d like to see added.

If you still need a little tease of the app before downloading it, check out the video below to see everything that the Coldwell Banker iPad app has to offer. You can download the app from the iPad app store by just searching for “Coldwell Banker” or visit ipad.coldwellbanker.com.

Kelly, for now just the iPad but we’re already looking at the other tablet operating systems to see what would make the best fit.

iPad app is a fantastic tool…just one more reason to work at CB! I remind my potential clients that I can work for any real estate company, but I am at CB as we have "cutting edge" tools that my Silicon Valley clients LOVE!

I dont want to use the ipad app, i just want to get to my agent's site. How about just allowing us iPad owners access to the full Coldwell Banker site. My agent's Coldwell Banker's site doesn't even come up on my iPad , I get forced to an iPhone, non-agent site. Most sites allow you an option of viewing the full site, why doesn't Coldwell Banker?
