Mom and home are in many cases synonymous. As Mother’s Day approaches it is time to thank her for all the incredible ways she makes/made your house a home.
This is my last mother’s day as just a daughter as next year I will be celebrating as a first time mom. (or technically am I a mom already blog.coldwellbanker.com/pregnancy-reveal?) Whichever the case I am very excited to spoil my mom as she truly is my best friend in life. Looking for ways to make this weekend special for your mom? Here are just a few:
Start By Stopping
First things first breakfast (in bed or not) is an AWESOME way to kick off Mother’s Day. Here is the thing that some kids (and significant others) forget…breakfast at 7AM is NOT awesome. To start off mom’s Mother’s Day of Awesomeness consider giving her the gift of a few extra z’s by letting her sleep in. We know you are excited to pamper her but believe me there is no greater gift to a busy mom than a few extra hours of sleep. Wondering what to do with your time while she sleeps? I am sure she wouldn’t mind if you cleaned the house…or at the very least your room! (sans vacuuming since she is sleeping)
Now It is Time for Breakfast!
Here are some lovely recipe ideas for an incredible breakfast in bed. If brunch is more your speed we have some great ideas on previewsinsideout.com that will make your mom really feel like the Queen that she is.
Awesome Gifts
It’s not so much about the actual gift but more about the thought that goes into it. Let’s start with the standard. Flowers are ALWAYS a sure way to a mom’s heart but if you really want to go for the win go with chocolate. Chocolate always trumps flowers. Oh and you know what trumps both? Building her a MOM CAVE!
For those feeling crafty we picked some of our most favorite homemade gifts that range from a DIY lemon scrub to a very special way to say cheers. Read 5 Unique Homemade Mother’s Day Gifts here.
Now that mom has had a few hours (or minutes) of extra sleep, has a nice meal in her tummy and has been showered with gifts the rest of the day is simple…simply go with the flow and just spend time with her. That’s the great thing about moms, your time will always be the most awesome gift you can give her.
Enjoy!
Hello Lindsay,
Great article. I really ejoyed reading the article, especially about the part of treating mom to breakfast in bed.
At http://www.JoinVIP.com, our research team created a poll of what moms want for Mother’s Day this year. I created an infographic of the results. I think the infographic would be a great fit for your post.
Could I send it to you for a review?
Thanks,
