Miami Beach is an exciting and constantly evolving city, full of great new restaurants and a lively nightlife — both of which present the perfect opportunity to enjoy a nice cocktail. Whether you’re looking to unwind after a long day’s work or just getting ready to spend a night out on the town, below is a list of some of the best libations that Miami Beach has to offer:
#1- The Rum Line – As the name clearly suggests, this hidden gem located in the back of the Lowes Hotel has more than 100 kinds of rum. The laid-back atmosphere of the breezy outdoor patio feels like an authentic tiki bar and even some of the glassware is consistent with the theme, featuring pineapples, hula girls, and skulls. Try their classic Daiquiris or Mojitos, their Piña Colada made with fresh juices, or share the Mai Tai for two, all are mind-blowingly flavorful. Rest assured, you can’t go wrong with any of The Rum Line’s decadent rum craft cocktails.
#2- Regent Cocktail Club – Step inside this dark, cozy cocktail bar inside the Gale Hotel, reminiscent of a 1920’s speakeasy, and sit back and relax for you’re in for a real treat. The Regent Cocktail Club is nothing short of being proper cocktail bar where all of the bartenders and servers are genuinely passionate about their craft. With a creative cocktail menu that changes nightly, in addition to the invariable classics, you will never be disappointed. I recommend going with an Old Fashioned, a Mint Julep, or if you’re daring enough, ask one of the highly skilled mixologists to make you their favorite concoction!
#3- The Broken Shaker – Arguably one of the best outdoor bars in the city, The Broken Shaker attracts both locals and tourists alike to sip on their world-renowned cocktails. Named one of ‘The World’s 50 Best Bars’ and a two-time semi-finalist for a James Beard Award, this hipster joint has surely exceeded everyone’s expectations since opening as a pop-up in 2012. Lucky for us, it’s here to stay and constantly creating innovative cocktails as well as perfecting classic favorites. At this bar, opt for the daily cocktail or punch specials, prepared with fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables form their beautiful on-site garden. Talk about striving for perfection!
#4- Sweet Liberty Drinks and Supply Co – This part restaurant, part cocktail bar offers the best of both world and in a spacious, lively environment ideal for celebrations. Check this place out during their daily happy hour from 4-7pm, as they have unbeatable specials such as .75¢ oysters. Also on the happy hour menu, are the tasty Moscow Mule, the delightful Aperol Spritz and they even have Rosé on tap! If you go for dinner or after happy hour ends, I recommend ordering a Velvet Sideswipe – an enticing spiced agave, pineapple and Mezcal drink. As a neon sign on the wall suggests, you will definitely ‘pursue happiness’ when you’re at Sweet Liberty.
#5- Saxony Bar – The Faena Hotel boasts an unparalleled level of opulence and glamour. Tucked inside, you’ll find the Saxony Bar, an intimate setting featuring exquisite classic cocktails, live DJs and even a taxidermied peacock. Per their request, be sure to dress nice and make the required reservations in advance (saxonybar@faena.com). Any cocktail you order will be served to perfection so go for your personal favorites or try something new, either way it will certainly be scrumptious. It’s only open Thursday-Saturday from 10pm-4am so plan ahead accordingly.
