The Never Ending Job of a Homeowner

There are people who work tirelessly at their jobs. Day and night they have their nose to the grindstone, working to be the best at what they do. Regardless of the hour, they are on call to handle the next crisis or solve the biggest problems.

No position is closer to this than the job being a homeowner.

Dreaming Down South…

Wednesday, March 23rd – Approximately 5:00PM EST I leaned back in my ridiculously comfortable seat at the outdoor dining area of a well recommended restaurant in Columbia, South Carolina…took a bite out of my shrimp and grits appetizer (AMAZING!) and washed it down with a sip of refreshingly cool sweet iced tea. The 77 degree [...]

World’s Bestest Cup of Coffee

Last week I railed against some of our competitors using unqualified claims in their marketing to consumers and other agents.  One such claim was “the No. 1 real estate company on Twitter and Facebook” on a widely circulated video…no source or disclaimer provided. So, someone online called them on it and they responded by referencing  [...]

The Government’s Plan for Foreclosures

I wanted to start my next blog with a little more college basketball.  Amazingly I don’t have to travel next week and was hoping to see my Illinois Fighting Illini at Madison Square Garden in the NIT semifinals, but that didn’t pan out.  And last night I was disappointed to see Syracuse lose.  Leo Rautins, [...]

My Take on the February Report from the National Association of Realtors

Today, the National Association of Realtors released its monthly report for February on the housing market.  I was really encouraged reading through it.  Yes, existing home sales dropped slightly (by just .06 percent), but we have to remember what was going on during this time – snow, snow and more snow!  I know that I [...]

Your Favorite TV Home

Homes on television shows always seem to look more interesting than homes in real life. They set a stage for a show and there have been a number of television series in which the homes is as much a character as any of the actors.

In a recent online survey conducted on coldwellbanker.com and Coldwell Banker On Location, we asked people to vote on their favorite television home. The response was a bit surprising.

Trend for 2010: Multi-Generational Homes

As reported in Reuters and many other news outlets, we surveyed Coldwell Banker real estate agents across the country and found that 37 percent have seen more families looking for homes that can accommodate multiple generations.

Places Where St. Patrick’s Day is More than a Parade

What do Chicago, Boston and Savannah all have in common? They may be unique in their culture and history – but in March, they are also known as three of the best places in the U.S. to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. It can be debated for hours which town has the liveliest parade, friendliest pubs [...]

A March Madness Look at College Towns

I’m on my way this week to Louisville and Knoxville for two major Coldwell Banker regional events.  I must admit that as a huge college basketball fan, my trips to these two great places is tinged with sadness.  Because Louisville and Tennessee are in the NCAA Tournament, I’m sure I’ll be met by a full [...]
