The 5 Scariest Houses Ever

With Halloween just a few days away I though it was time to take a look at some of the scariest houses that have existed. Some are real homes and others are fictional, but all of them will haunt your thoughts. Ok, that was a bit much, but they’re still pretty creepy.

Vote for Your Favorite College Town

Every year around this time, I daydream about going to my favorite college town, Columbus, OH to root for the Ohio State Buckeyes. I spent a few years growing up just outside Columbus and the fanfare surrounding Buckeye football has stuck with me (although this year’s a bit tougher than usual). There is something about the changing leaves, football rivalries and general fall season that makes me wish I was in the middle of it all. Are You Spending $1,000 a Month on Rent?

I enjoyed a “fun” weekend out in Urbana-  Champaign, IL, with family and friends.  We had a blast together hoping our Fightin’ Illini would improve to 7-0 against Ohio State.  Didn’t happen.   We turned the ball over too many times. The Role of Lifestyle Trends in Searching for a Home

But anyway, Coldwell Banker Real Estate was the first real estate company to launch a lifestyle search feature on its website. We didn’t just do that to be cool and be the first (maybe that was part of it), but the main reason was because there’s a significant trend among real estate consumers that shows their lifestyle is a major player in the home or neighborhood they choose to live in.

It’s the season for creatures of a scary nature and what better time to have a house on the market that is known for vampires. Fans of HBO’s True Blood may recognize this palatial estate as being home to the blood-sucking Queen Sophie Anne, but it’s actually a home set on the bluffs of Malibu. The mansion is currently listed by the #1 agent in all of Coldwell Banker Real Estate, Chris Cortazzo, for $75 million.

You Might Be Surprised to Learn What’s Going on with Baby Boomers

You may have noticed we have been talking a lot about first-time home buyers recently. They are an important part of today’s market. But, they are not alone, and no one can ignore the 79 million-strong baby boomer generation, which has helped drive so many trends in society.
