Thanksgiving is the meal that family and friends look forward to all year. Whether you are hosting this year or just want to get in the seasonal spirit, check out these Thanksgiving decoration ideas!
Greet Guests with Something Festive
Set a welcoming tone by greeting your guests with a festive display.
Do you have a stoop? Fill the stairs with hearty mums and pumpkins of different shapes and sizes. Or fill a rustic wood bucket or crate with seasonal elements and place it outside your door.
Wreaths are a beautiful way to dress up your door. Look for fresh wreaths at your local garden store or make your own. We love this DIY Indian corn wreath from Stone Gable.
Don’t forget about the inside of your apartment! Gather the kids and create a fun sign or banner with a Thanksgiving message. Make a Gobble ‘Til You Wobble sign with help from Lolly Jane, or print out a Be Thankful banner from the TOMKAT studio.

Gather Seasonal Elements
One of our favorite Thanksgiving decoration ideas is using natural elements. Head to Central Park and gather colorful leaves, fallen acorns, and other seasonal items. String the leaves together for a pretty garland, frame a beautiful leaf, or wraps your favorite leaves around candles and tie them in place with twine.
Did your kids gather a bunch of sticks? Create a thankful tree! Simply put the sticks in a vase, set out tags and string, and ask your guest to write what they’re thankful for.
Head to your corner store and stock up on mini pumpkins and gourds. Use them to fill a tall vase or hollow out the centers and add tea lights.
Create a Beautiful Tablescape
Of course, we couldn’t talk about Thanksgiving decoration ideas without mentioning the dining table!
Start with a pretty tablecloth or tablerunner. Pull out all your dishes (don’t be afraid to mix and match) and set a place for each guest. Add a special touch with handwritten place cards or a festive napkin. Wow your guests with one of these 10 napkin ideas from Paper & Lace.
Then fill the center of your table with a gorgeous floral arrangement or have fun creating your own centerpiece. Fill vases of various heights with acorns and top them with a pretty flower, cover the table with pumpkins, candles, and leaves, or create a paper turkey with the kids.
