Bordentown is home to many different events throughout the year, such as the Cranberry Festival and Street Fair. This month, a newer Bordentown event is coming back for another year on August 13th (August 14th rain date), the Bordentown City Craft Beer Tasting. Hosted by the Downtown Bordentown Association, the event is organized by Mary Barnes who is also the owner of HOB Tavern in the city.
Who, What, Where, When
The event has something for everyone, whether partaking in the actual tasting or not. There will be a sidewalk sale and Bordentown’s local eateries will also be offering specials from their menus. Also, performing live will be the band Raven Rock Rounders. Tasters can expect to sample brews from 14 different breweries including Elysian Brewing, Ommegang, Firestone Walker, Double Nickel, and Southern Tier. The tasting itself will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will be held on the main drag of Bordentown City, Farnsworth Avenue.
The craft beer tasting is the perfect way to start the evening in Bordentown where there are many restaurants to soak up the suds at after the event, such as Under the Moon, The Vault, Marcello’s, Jester’s, The Farnsworth House, and Toscano. Then enjoy a stroll around town before grabbing some ice cream at Smylie’s or some cupcakes at the Cake Box.
