Within the Big Apple is the wonderful Queens County Farm Museum, an oasis of farmland sitting within the city. Admission is free to all, except during public events. Visitors are taken back to a simpler time at this 45-acre site that continues to be a working farm. Guests are invited to enjoy the ground’s historic farm buildings, a greenhouse complex, livestock, farm vehicles and implements, planting fields, and an orchard and herb garden.
Free View of the Skyline
No need to fight the crowds and pay to visit the Statue of Liberty when you can see the majestic Lady the way she is meant to be viewed, from the water. The Staten Island Ferry is open year around 24-hours a day and 7 days a week to transport people between Brooklyn to Staten Island. During the approximate 25-minute trip one way (or one hour round-trip), you will get the best views of the city skyline along with Lady Liberty and Ellis Island from a ferry that has become a New York City staple. Food and beer is sold on the ferry and is a relaxing way to grab a light meal or snack.
