The holiday season gives us plenty of reasons to reflect on the people and things we cherish the most, including our favorite smart home gadgets.
Every November, we reflect on the people and things we’re most grateful for – and our smart home gadgets and gizmos are no exception. Here are some of the smart home products we’d like to extend our thanks to!
We’ve all been there – we wake up to chilly weather and keep the heat on throughout the day to keep the house warm, but around midday the sun peeks out and you realize your house may not need the furnace running! With the Nest thermostat you can turn your heating and cooling on or off, or even adjust it, remotely via your phone.
How many times have you ever been warm and cozy in bed, only to realize you have to get up to turn off the lights? The Lutron Caseta Wireless system eliminates this problem by allowing us to control our lights with our phones. Plus, it also can dim your lights to create a different ambiance in the same room. Your living room could go from a softly lit dining room to a bright party room all from your phone.
Uh oh – you went out for a quick errand and upon your return realized you’ve forgotten your keys. Or maybe you were running late for work and forgot to lock your door in the rush. With August Locks, you can lock or unlock your door wirelessly with a mobile app, but don’t fret – your traditional keys will still work, too.
Sometimes, the unthinkable happens – natural disasters such as fire, tornadoes or hurricanes can endanger your safety at home. Halo is also the first alarm capable of alerting users to impending natural disasters like hurricanes, tornados, and wild fires based on your location preferences.
Amazon Echo is this year’s smart home darling – and who wouldn’t love the little voice inside named Alexa? She can turn on your smart appliances and devices, order items from Amazon and maybe even make you feel a little less lonely when you have someone to speak to at home!
