Transparency: The Next Step in Home Innovation?

Transparent household items are coming soon

This month, Mashable reported transparent smartphones could be in our future. Polytron Technologies, a Taiwan-based manufacturer, has released a futuristic-looking prototype for what it hopes will be the world’s first transparent smartphone. Tech lovers around the world have been discussing the pros and cons of this type of technology all over Twitter, Facebook and forums. Super cool or fingerprint nightmare…only time will tell.

It made me wonder…will this innovative trend translate into home technology as well? The answer is most definitely and there are already some very cool concepts and creative designs in the works.

This invisible flatscreen was designed by Michael Friebe.  Mr. Friebe explains, “As the first of its kind, the Loewe Invisio introduces technical innovation, combining conventional LCD and the latest TOLED display technology. This allows to create non-transparent / solid moving pictures with rich color reproduction and full contrast range from solid black to pristine white.” (yankodesign.com)
