When a company takes the time time to build an entire smart home on the trade show floor at CES you notice. Vivint did just that and caught our eye with their smart home and security packages.
We had the pleasure of having Vivint’s Chief Marketing Officer, Jeff Lyman in our Coldwell Banker Smart Home Showcase booth to chat about their products and some exciting announcements they made at this year’s show. Before we get into that let me share a quick summary of what Vivint is all about.
Think of their product offerings as a smart home ecosystem featuring products from air quality control, water management, security and plenty more. Sounds pretty cool right? Well with their breaking news at CES regarding their partnership with the Nest Thermostat and Amazon’s Echo they have upped their game to an entirely new level of smartness, simplicity and convenience.
I was especially intrigued when Jeff shared how their partnership with Amazon’s Echo is bringing a new element of voice experience into a home. “Imagine you are cooking meatloaf in the kitchen. We all know how messy that can be. Well what if you wanted to turn down the thermostat or check on your kids while they are playing in the basement? Instead of having to clean up and walk away from what you are doing you can simply ask Alexa to turn down the temperature or turn on a security camera.” As a known chatterbox who loves to talk I am ALL FOR voice control in the home!
Along with their impressive suite of products is their equally impressive service package offerings. Creating a smart home has become similar to a “DIY Badge of Honor” because it takes a ton of time and the learning curve is steep. Vivint takes the guesswork out and gives their subscribers peace of mind with professional install service that comes with a promise that they can be at your door in as fast as two hours.
Perhaps the coolest takeaway from this interview was Jeff’s explanation of the biggest home they are currently working on and that is the Vivint Smart Home Arena which is home of the Utah Jazz. Tune in to the video below to get the scoop on how they are changing the game in this arena in terms of comfort for press and Jazz fans to security of the locker room for players and their belongings.
