Ah, Monday morning. The weekend is over and it’s back to work. With all that goes on in a weekend sometimes you miss an interesting headline or two between mowing the lawn, running errands and finding time to relax. So we thought it would be a good idea to start publishing a real estate headlines post for Monday morning to allow you to quickly catch up on everything that went on in real estate while Derek Jeter was getting hit number 3,000 and everyone else was opting out of the MLB All Star Game.
Here we go:
The KCM Blog predicts 5 real estate headlines you’ll see in the next 6 months.
Inman News columnist, David Fletcher, informs us on when to ignore real estate market reports.
Realty Times highlights a survey that shows there’s still value in homeownership.
The Next Great Generation asks, “Is the American Dream Over?” But here at Blue Matter we argue the American Dream is far from over.
And finally, Coldwell Banker CEO, Jim Gillespie, appeared on NBC’s LXTV Open House this weekend to talk about the most affordable and most expensive housing markets according the Coldwell Banker Home Listing Report.
I love this "Monday" morning approach of updating our clients on the latest headlines that we feel are relevant to the real estate industry. If you look at how consumers are getting their information, this idea of posting content for your past clients, current clients and prospective clients to view "how and when they want it" is the wave of the future for our industry.
It would be relatively easy for an agent to simply use a web cam to shoot video of themselves reading off the "Top 5 headlines they expect over the next 6 months". Agent can then "post" the video on their own YouTube channel while "announcing" they have the latest edition of their "Monday Morning Real Estate Roundup" on FaceBook & Twitter, while simultaneously posting video on their blog.
Now that's real estate marketing for the digital age! Inexpensive, fast & relevant.
