Looking for some fun in the sun this weekend? These 5 weekend activities in Miami Beach will keep you busy!

Activity #1: Free yoga at the Mondrian South Beach – Whether you frequently do yoga or have never tried it before, the Mondrian is a fabulous place to practice. The complementary classes recur every Sunday at 10am on the dock facing Biscayne Bay. Enjoy the iconic views of the Miami skyline, fresh bay breeze, and all of the positive vibes that Mondrian hotel exudes while you stretch and strengthen your body. Moreover, the hotel offers 20% off of decadent spa services and 20% off at the delicious Mondrian Caffé for yogis that attend the class. Start your Sunday morning on the right foot and feel great the rest of the day!

Activity #2: Brunch at Upland Miami – If you haven’t already been to this new South of Fifth hot spot, don’t wait any longer. This sister restaurant of Upland NYC combines seasonal ingredients with masterful culinary techniques to create incredibly tasty dishes. Brunch items include Eggs Benedict with country ham and meyer lemon hollandaise, Skirt Steak Chilaquiles with a farm egg and cotija cheese, and Pancakes with local strawberries and butter. You can also try one of their signature pastas, wood-oven pizzas, salads, and their legendary cheeseburger. Enjoy your meal in the beautiful, rusting setting decorated with fresh flowers and preserved lemons. Amazing food in a stunning ambiance on the weekend, what more could you want?

Activity #3: Sunbathe at the beach – Few things make us more privileged as South Florida residents than the ridiculously perfect winter weather. While the rest of the country bundles up and stays indoors, we get to appreciate the warm sun and clear skies without the intense humidity and heat of summer. Another blessing that we Miamians have year-round: the ocean & beaches. However cliché it may sound, we actually live where people vacation and should take advantage of being able to go to the beach whenever we want. Get out there, absorb some vitamin D, lay back and relax. After all, it is the best time of the year to be out and about in Miami Beach!

Activity #4: Watch the sunset at The Standard – Without a doubt, one of the best places to see the sunset in Miami Beach is at Lido Bayside Grill, the hotel’s chic and wholesome restaurant. Sip on some Frosé and take back some Cobia Crudo or indulge in a couple Artichoke Frites and Sunset Sangria as the sun sets before dinner. The restaurant’s view is beyond spectacular and if it’s a nice day, you’ll get to see the sun dip behind the Miami skyline on the horizon overlooking Biscayne Bay. Listening to a live DJ play soothing beats, eating good food, and drinking delightful cocktails on the scenic Lido dock make for a remarkable weekend experience that you wont regret!

Activity #5: Bike ride along the boardwalk – One of the best experiences to try on Miami Beach is riding your bike down the beachfront boardwalk. Not only is this a very iconic thing to do, but it’s also great fun and even quite healthy. As you get some exercise by cycling through the picturesque boardwalk, you should start your ride on the opposite side of the restaurant-studded Ocean Drive and bike past Lummus Park, Nikki Beach, South Pointe Park, all the way to the Miami Beach Marina. With the stunning turquoise Atlantic Ocean to you left, the warm South Florida sun shining up above, and verdant parks on your right, you will feel at peace amongst nature. If you don’t have your own bike, don’t fret; there are several CitiBike rentals scattered throughout the city!
