When Olivia Sanchez first walked into the Woodhaven, NY house with her parents and real estate agent, the five-year old with the spunk of a teenager kicked off her shoes and socks and quickly made herself comfortable. It was then that NYPD officer Andy and project administrator Ziara Sanchez decided to purchase their own space and sense of comfort; in other words, they bought their home.
The high school sweethearts bought the house for their growing family with the knowledge that the home would need some improvements. However, with two daughters under the age of five and Ziara’s sixteen-year old sister Nati all living under one roof – not to mention Andy’s demanding schedule as a NYPD officer – managing the time to make those repairs has been more difficult than expected.
So, Andy and Ziara have asked George Oliphant and his George to the Rescue team for some help to make their unfinished basement more useful. Before the rescue, Nati used the basement for some quiet time for her studying. But basement was in such bad shape (and scary) that Nati would only go downstairs once Andy got home from work. While Nati would like a safe space for homework and studying, Andy wants a man cave. But as the only man in a house with four women, that could be a long shot.
This rescue was full of unexpected challenges and ingenuity on the part of George and company. But for the family whose husband was described by his wife as a hardworking, dedicated family man and model NYPD officer, no challenge was too great for George and his team. Be sure to watch the complete episode of the Sanchez’ on George to the Rescue.
Home for the Sanchez’ means a lifetime of memories, laughter and happiness. And with this new basement, they are able to enjoy their home to the fullest – and Andy may have gotten that man cave he’s always dreamed of, too.
