A mixture of Pacific and Caribbean beaches, more than 1000 islands, rainforests, mountains and a sophisticated cosmopolitan city make Panama one of the world’s best places to live. Hear all about if from Maria Alejandra Provero at Coldwell Banker Affiliates of Panama.

From history and food, to the homes and specific cultural traditions – every city has its own unique flavor that make them captivating. On our ‘Buying Abroad‘ series, we’ve had the pleasure of having Coldwell Banker brokers in Berlin, Istanbul, Paris and Italy share a bit about what makes living in their country and cities so magical.

In our latest installment of ‘Buying Abroad’, we get an enchanting look at a country that I’ve longed to visit for years now. A country that just so happens to be the only place in the world where you can see the sun rise on the Pacific and set on the Atlantic. Today, we’re off to Panama.

Why Panama…

Panama is a small country but great in so many ways. North and South of the continent magically find each other in this tempting Isthmus located between both Oceans.

Due to its strategic location, Panama receives daily direct flights from everywhere. Visitors favorite places to vacation, live or invest are: Panama City, Colon, Coronado, San Carlos, Altos de María, Boquete, Pedasí, Bocas del Toro. Foreigners who purchase a property enjoy all the same rights and protections as Panamanians. Most foreign buyers come from Canada, The U.S. and Europe.

Panama City has contrasting neighborhoods with Modern, Spanish Colonial, American, French and English architecture types, a wide variety of typical and international cuisines, excellent schools, incredible nightlife, strong financial sector, high technology services and the best shopping in Latin America – all inside of a peaceful environment.  “In the heart of the City, at Punta Pacifica you can own a residence in a exclusive private island”.

Beach areas have homes and condos with wonderful amenities and ocean-views including world class golfing, diving, sport fishing and surfing.

Panama happens to be one of the best places in the world to retire due to its retirement programs, low cost of living, nice climate, safety infrastructure and notable tax advantages.

Finally, we have to say that Panama has a special secret: Its people! Historically, the isthmus has received visitors from all over the world because of its position as a world business and transportation crossroads –  so Panamanians are traditional, but globalized and friendly people who love foreigners.
