How to Sell Your Home Faster

Learn 5 tips to sell your home faster in a market for buyers and the advent of new technologies. It requires proper timing, preparation and a great agent.

Pricing, negotiation, remodeling, staging and technology play roles in selling your home faster. Try some of these tips to stand out from the competition.

Give Your Home a Face Lift

A variety of small home remodels and upgrades can do wonders for attracting home buyers. Some key projects you can do to make your house for sale more appealing include caulking small cracks and holes in walls, trimming bushes and trees, adding a coat of paint to your home’s exterior or interior and pressure washing the driveway.

Be Prepared to Give In a Little

While you shouldn’t give in to every request a home buyer makes, it’s important you are willing to negotiate various terms to move the sale along. This could include offering help with closing costs and adding in appliances that are already in the home as part of the sale.

Price Your Home Realistically

List your home at a competitive and realistic price early on in the process. Studies show internet real estate listings get the bulk of their views in their first two weeks online, making it even more important that you set your property at an attractive price.

Embrace Technology

The smart home trend is rapidly increasing and offering homeowners new ways to improve their own standard of living while raising the value of their homes. A small investment in smart home technology can enhance the appeal of their property for buyers.  Talk with your agent and consider investing in a smart home staging kit

Clean Up and Put Away

Finally, keep your home clean and attractive. Staging your home before a sale may greatly increase chances that it will sell faster. You should also be sure to depersonalize your property by putting away any family photos and other belongings.

My husband has a new job and is living in our new home. We are looking to sell our old home as soon as possible to move the kids and get them started in their new schools. It is good to know that one should be sure to price the home realistically when trying to sell quickly. I like what was said about how real estate listings get the bulk of their views in the first two weeks. It would be ideal to get our home to sell within those first weeks.

According to the article, you suggest pricing my home realistically since most of it’s exposure will occur withing the first two weeks of posting online. I’ve never sold a home before, so this is really good to know. Do you think working wit ha real estate agent would be a good way to accurately determine what the price of my home ought to be listed at?

I like how you mentioned the importance of your home’s price when trying to sell it. It was helpful that you included listing your home at both a competitive and realistic price. My sister was recently offered a job that will require her to move to a new town. Making sure that her home is priced accurately could be helpful as she tries to sell her home.

My husband and I are looking to sell our home fairly quickly since he has to start his new job in just a few weeks and we want to move over there together. So thank you for mentioning that we have to be willing to work with the home buyers and negotiating. Although we will have to take our appliances with us, I could definitely see us helping with the closing costs.

Thanks for your comment about how you should make sure that your home has an accurate price from the beginning. I don’t know that most of the views your home will get will be in the first two weeks. My husband and I are planning on moving out of our city, and we are considering selling our home and looking into real estate.

Excellent suggestions. Many homeowners might not realize just how important it is to stage your home brilliantly. In fact, if you can make your home look warm and inviting, while also focusing on raising its curb appeal, all your investments in home improvement prior to sale will pay off. You might even be able to raise the asking price with key additions, such as insulation or green tech.

Found this article to be very informative. Pricing your home right and evaluating its value is important. Staging is also a key factor when it comes to selling a home. I would recommend you use online evaluation tools like that of sellanyhome for instance. You should also ask a number of real estate agents to evaluate your home.

It really helped when you mentioned how it is essential to set the right price for your home so it sells within the first 2 weeks. I can understand that taking the time to do this can help you find the best offer for your home. My brother was talking about how he needed to sell his house without a realtor, so I’ll share your page with him for help.
