It’s good to be Ben Zobrist.  At last year’s trade deadline, Ben was traded to the Kansas City Royals.  A few months later, he helped lead them all the way to the World Series title.  After the season, he became a free agent and signed with his home-state team, the Chicago Cubs – the 2016 World Series favorites (according to Las Vegas).

The switch-hitting second baseman is known for his grit and versatility on the field.  But at home, Ben plays his most multifaceted role of all – being a husband and dad.

The Zobrist’s house oozes creativity.  I don’t want to jump to conclusions here, but I give most of that credit to his piano playing, portrait painting wife Julianna.

For Ben, it was absolutely essential for him to have some outdoor space to play with his kids and still enjoy big city living in Chicago.  When you couple that with the fact that his home is only a mile away from the legendary Wrigley Field where the Cubs play, this home was a no-doubter.

It is widely known among baseball fans about the curse of the Chicago Cubs.  The last time the Chicago Cubs won a world series, America had forty-eight states, movies were silent and the amount of power your vehicle produced literally depended on the amount of horses you owned.   But with the slew of young talent mixed in with veteran leaders such as Ben Zobrist, the north side of Chicago is hoping to party like its 1908 again.

Watch the video above to hear why for the Zobrists, surrounding yourself with things that have “meaning and stories behind it” make a house a home.
