A Home Makeover That Adapts Space to Those That Live in It

A home makeover that not only transforms the space, but the life that is lived within it.

A place that should always be comfortable and safe, has become an obstacle for Donna Myhre. Since she was diagnosed with ALS, she has had to constantly adapt. Simply getting in and out of the rooms in her home has become a challenge. While the Myhre’s home once fit their needs, the house is no longer functional as Donna navigates her day in a wheelchair.

Enter George Oliphant of George to the Rescue to help make the Myhre home a comfortable and safe place again for Donna and her family.

When the Myhre family first starting searching for their home, they turned to real estate professional Sonja Horvath of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Wayne, NJ. So, when George’s team arrived to rescue the Myhre family home, Sonja was there to help yet again. Knowing that Coldwell Banker had defined a “smart home,” Sonja knew that connected devices could truly change the quality of Donna’s daily life. With the ability to change the temperature of the home or turn off the lights using her smart phone, mobility would no longer be an issue.

Smart home technology leaders Lutron, August, and Nest donated products to be installed in the Myhre home to help Donna manage her lighting, thermostat and doors from the convenience of her smart phone. See how this home makeover not only transforms the space, but the life that is lived within it.
