Steve Garvey has been part of some incredible teams during his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was a part of what is arguably one of the best infields ever assembled, so he knows a bit about working together to get things done.
While his playing days are behind him, Garvey found just the right teammate to help turn his home into a legendary place to live, his wife Candace. Upon entering the Garvey residence, located in Palm Desert, CA, you can tell this is not just a house, but a home. Family photos and mementos of the past greet you in every room.
I got the opportunity to attend this video shoot and meet the Garveys in person. They are truly an amazing pair. Candace is as close to a professional decorators as you will ever come across and takes pride in making their home a place to live, love and relax. From the pool to the dining room to the incredible kitchen, I dare you to find a facet of this home you don’t love. Steve Garvey, the man formerly known as “Popeye” for his incredible forearms, is every bit as fit as he was as a player and loves to show off the place that he and Candace have made together. And much to my delight, he genuinely wants to sit down and talk baseball with you. In fact, pretty much every TV is set to the MLB Network when you turn it on.
And the private batting cage tucked in the backyard is just icing on the cake. Take a tour through the home of Steve and Candace Garvey in the video below as part of the Coldwell Banker Home Field Advantage video series.
