The Gale house, which was designed by Wright himself, is known as “the most livable Frank Lloyd Wright house.”  Built in 1892, the home has been flawlessly restored and is located in Oak Park, just 15 minutes from the bustling city of Chicago.  Zak Knebel of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage,Oak Park River Forest, said the contrast of the octagonal bays that join the rectangular core give it a unique and irregular feel.  From the photos we’re certain that any family would be lucky to call this official Oak Park Landmark home!

Depending on whether you enjoy the buzz of the city or the serenity of the outdoors, this next house might be more your style.  Designed by the last and youngest apprentice of Wright, Arthur Dennis Stevens, 7 Timberline Lane is truly one of a kind and a retreat into nature.  Peggy Crobin, Broker Associate with Coldwell Banker Brokerage, Buffalo Grove knows first hand how captivating this house is.  With an open living space and floor to ceiling windows that provide a 360 degree view, a one-of-a-kind patented roof and a 29 ft. rubber tree growing inside it, it’s incredible that anyone could ever leave this oasis.  One thing is for sure, who ever does end up in this house will be in nature-made heaven!
