Hi. My name is Cotton. Finding my “forever home” was the best thing that ever happened to me. Honestly, without it I wouldn’t be here to tell my story about my road to stardom. (In case you missed it I am making my Hollywood debut in the new Coldwell Banker TV commercial!) I was born deaf and because of my disability I was labeled as a “throw away dog.” Finding my home wasn’t an easy task. In fact, before settling down in my new place I moved three times and had three different families.
In my third home I had it really rough. My owner had a very hard time dealing with my disability and decided it would be best if I stayed locked up in a garden shed in his backyard. I cried and cried and hoped and prayed that someone would hear me and finally someone came to my rescue. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, an animal cruelty officer heard my barks and saved me. At the time I was a mere 32 pounds, just half the weight I am today. I was barely alive and covered in bedsores that went to my bone, but I was still able to wag my tail at the officer to say thank you for saving my life. I hear my new officer friend also took that owner to a kennel for bad humans. I was brought to the Oregon Humane Society where after several months I was back on my feet and ready for a new home. Check out my before and after picture! While my story up until now was sad, it was worth the wait. I was adopted by HEROES! Not the kind you see with capes that have super powers. REAL American heroes. Not only did they give this little Pitbull a new life and a loving forever home but my owner also serves in the military and fought for our country in Iraq! The day he came home from the war he picked me up and I have been with him and mom ever sense. Here is our first family picture… I am so grateful to them for giving me a chance to be part of their family and I make sure that each and every time they come home I show it. Catch me in action in the video below. I make my debut at :10 and return at :38!
Wonderful story of Cotton. Bless the people who made him a true member of their family. Cute commercial, too.
I’m proud to say I know Cottons mom. She and I worked together. She is 100% animal lover. I see pictures of Cotton and his fur ever family when she posts them. She and her husband are awesome people. Cotton is so lucky to be in their family.
We were all so moved by their story. Such an incredible family!
